BRANDON LODGE ACCESS STATEMENT
Brandon Lodge is situated approx. 1.5 miles from Hereford City Centre, which is an elevated
position, if walking from the centre there is an illuminated footpath to the property alongside the
A49, towards the end of the walk we are situated on the top of a small hill of approx. 350 meters.
The closes Train station is approx. 2.5 miles away and the property is situated on an hourly bus route
located 50 meters away or a more frequent bus route approx. 350 meters away from the property.
When driving into Brandon Lodge’s car park, we have a large car suitable for 10 plus car. The floor
covering is loose stone chippings. You approach the front door via a single step into a porch area and
then the reception from a standard with door way. All areas are well lit.
The receptions, bar area and breakfast room are all open plan, well-lit and on the ground floor with
no steps and carpeted. As you go through the main building to rear there is one step before turn left
through a standard door way to access the public toilet, which has a standard door way, if you follow
through the hall way there is a three steps and a narrow, deep door way before entering the
conservatory.
The conservatory is a light spacious room with a tiled surface. It has one step out, then access to the
front car park via a flagstone path and the garden rooms.
The Garden Bed Rooms have one step into a standard door width room; they are very spacious,
carpeted, and easy to access Plug points, tea and coffee making facilities, guest information folders
and light switches. The ensuite bathrooms are limited on floor space, not enough to turn a wheel
chair with a tiled surface, well-lit and have shower over bath; there are no grab rails or aids fitted in
the bath rooms.
The main house rooms are accessible via one flight of stairs plus four extra steps; these have a
handrail to both sides and one handrail up the extra four steps. All bed rooms have standard width
doorway, easy to access Plug points, Tea and coffee facilities, guest information folders, light
switches and carpets. Out of the four rooms, three have shower cubical only and one has shower
over bath. Again the ensuite bathrooms are limited on floor space, not enough to turn a wheel chair
with a tiled surface. There are no grab rails aids fitted in the bath rooms.
Non slip bath mats can be provided for all a bathrooms. None of the bed rooms have telephones in
the rooms.
